Have you dreamed of swinging in a hammock under palm trees while crystal clear water calmly laps on a beautiful white beach? Not only can you have “your piece of Paradise” but you can have your own private beach rental house in the tiny fishing village of Cabuya in Costa Rica. You’ll be immersed in the sleepy village’s natural settings and overwhelmed by the friendly people who live on the tiny island close to Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, nestled between the jungle and fringed by the coast and surrounding hills around your Costa Rica vacation rental.
Cabuya: The Perfect Vacation Spot
For years Costa Rica has been a favorite vacation spot for people who just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of work, family and other responsibilities. Costa Rica beach rentals are the perfect way to have peace and quiet, get away from the city life, and yet be able to enjoy water sports, hiking, bird watching, horseback riding, and visit the other exotic islands that dot the coast.
Cabuya is one of the islands that are the perfect place to rent a beach home for a week or longer. You’ll be overwhelmed by the incredible countryside outside your beach rental house: the volcanoes, cloud forests, beaches, national parks and waterfall gardens that surround the fishing village. Located on Costa Rica’s ocean side, Cabuya is located between Mal-Pais, Santa Teresa and Montezuma. Costa Rica’s first reserve, Cabo Blanco, is located less than 10 miles up the beach from Cabuya. There you’ll be able to see hundreds of species of birds, monkeys and other wildlife, in addition to fauna that are only native to the cloud forests of Costa Rica.
How To Get to Cabuya
Once you arrive in Costa Rica the three best ways to get to Cabuya are:
By plane: Either with Sansa from Alajuela (right next to the international airport) or from Pavas with Nature Air to Tambor. It costs about $85 USD one way.
By bus: Take the bus to Puntarenas (Tell the taxi driver: A la estación de Buses a Puntarenas)
From there take a taxi to the Ferry to Paquera or walk to the Lancha. Once you get to Paquera, there will always be a bus going to Montezuma via Tambor/Cóbano. At the last stop in Montezuma there will be a bus waiting to take you to Cabuya.
By the direct bus: There is a direct bus which leaves twice a day from the big bus station "Coca Cola" in the center of San José. (506) 2642 0220
You can also rent a car and drive to Puntarenas, where you’ll get on the ferry over to Cabuya.
