YOGA STOPS TRAFFICK Print E-mail

On Saturday 3rd April, 2010, a group of yogis and yoginis gathered on the deck at the stunning Anamaya Resort & Retreat Center. As darkness fell, the resort's gifted and inspiring yoga instructor, Daniella Cotreau, led us through a wondrous heart-opening practice, while mother nature provided the most beautiful backdrop and soundtrack we could have hoped for. Followed with a song and chant of prayers for peace, by special guest Adam Bolton, and topped off with a delicious organic feast prepared by the resort's chef, it was a beautiful evening.

“Chunches de Mar” is an ART-CAMP festival which gathers national and international artists into a place where almond trees, waves and wildlife are the main driving force of creation. Furthermore, the artists from the Central Valley are encouraged to create their art work using the plastic waste, which is, unfortunately, washed up every day on the shores of this beautiful beach in the “Mixed Wildlife Refuge Romelia (RMVSR)”.

Playa los Cedros Junior Surfing Print E-mail
ImageOnce again the Playa Los Cedros Junior Surf Contest was a great success. Over 40 surfers and body boarders under the age of 18 competed during the two day event, held in August. This year's standout was Juan Carlos Hernandez, from Jacó. This twelve year old super­talented surfer finished first in all three categories he entered.

The organizers hope this annual event will contribute to create more awareness and interest in sea kayaking. In addition it will be a boost for the Paquera area. This part of Costa Rica
