Después de muchos años de intentar organizarnos, por fin, Montezuma conformó su Cámara de Turismo. El paso que ha dado este pueblo tan pequeño pero tan grande por sus recursos naturales que lo rodean, garantiza un rumbo mas positivo al contar con una organización que vele por sus intereses y el de sus asociados. Actualmente esta organización cuenta con mas de 40 afiliaciones y creemos que otros lo harán pronto.

No es posible imaginar nuestras costas sin la presencia de palmeras y siempre las playas tropicales están ligadas a estas hermosas plantas, sin embargo; una amenaza cada vez mayor atenta con la permanencia de las palmeras, esto debido, a una plaga conocida como el picudo del coco (Ryynchophorus palmarum) que a su vez transmite una enfermedad llamada Anillo Rojo y es producida por un nematodo (Bursaphelenchus cocophilus). Aquí les vamos a dar algunas recomendaciones para reducir el impacto de esta plaga.

The small village of Cabuya, also known as the gateway to the Caboblanco Reserve, has other attractions apart from the park. There is the unique "Cemetery Island" (Isla de Cabuya) where the local Ticos have buried friends and family for many generations. It can be reached on foot during low tide, but make sure to get back before the tide comes sweeping in, or you'll spend an uncomfortable night.
