Don´t miss out on all the fun that the Costa Rican summer has to offer.
The Christmas season kicks off with an impressive parade of floats
decorated by many public service affilates. Children
will delight in the guest appearance of Santa Claus. The "Festival de
Luz" is held in the first days of December in San José.
The longest festival of the country is held in Palmares during 2 weeks
in the beginning of the year. The festival brings together traditions of the
past and newer influences of our modern day, including a grand techno party.
Traditional Costa Rican Fiestas Civicas with horse parades (topes),
bullriding and local dances take places once a year in most of the larger
towns in the country.
Fiesta Civicas are also held in Cóbano and Rio Negro during the first
two months of the year.
Chunches de Mar (Art camp festival):
An art exhibition is held in the end of January on Montezuma´s Playa
Grande. The art is created out of recycled materials that are found on
the beach.
Last but not least make sure to visit the Sand Castle building
competition that takes place in Manzanillo in March or April.
